Build a shelter yourself - easily and quickly

At Shelterbyg.dk you can find a varied selection of "build-it-yourself shelter" sets, which supply all the necessary material to build your own shelter in the garden or elsewhere. These do-it-yourself shelters range from the entry-level model, like our small kit that can be put together by the family in a weekend, to more advanced kits that appeal to experienced DIY enthusiasts. They are all supplied as complete shelter assembly sets, which make it easy for you who want to build your own garden shelter.

Below you can read a little about the different types you can choose when you want to build your own shelter:

  • Kalmar shelters are covered with vertical squid boards, which give a slightly raw and natural look.
  • Solid timber shelters are made from whole trunks of solid wood, which gives a solid and robust appearance.
  • The architect-designed shelter 7.1 is made of cut boards, with straight and clean lines for an elegant style.
  • The unique type 16 shelter with a curved roof and shielding on the sides at the front gives a cave-like feeling and lots of space.

Choose between two solid and durable versions of the roof - either roofing felt shingles or a grass roof. For some models, you can also choose between a straight roof or a gable roof. There is also the option of purchasing a skylight and/or a built-in table of 80 x 190 cm, which gives completely new possibilities of use.

On most types of self-build shelters, all wood is delivered in uncut lengths, and the work with the construction of your self-build shelter therefore only consists of cutting the individual parts to the right length and mounting them with the corresponding screws. On solid log shelters, however, the trunks are also cut to length. Floor and roof boards are in spruce. All other wood is Danish larch wood, cut at our own sawmill.

All of our shelter building kits contain all the necessary materials that must be used for construction, i.a. screws and roof covering in good quality, which is a considerable part of the total price. This way you avoid unpleasant "surprises" during the construction process.

A detailed shelter construction guide with precise drawings, color photos and associated instructions is also always included. The construction is shown step by step, so it is easy to follow.
It's just a matter of plucking up the courage and getting started!
