Shelter type 7.1 handicap is a shelter solution specially adapted for people with special needs.

Using a waist belt and a seat sling, the person is lifted out of the wheelchair, and the helper easily moves the person into the shelter, possibly on top of an air mattress, sleeping bag and pillow, etc. The person is then lowered into the sleeping bag, the seat sling is removed, and the person can now be camped as needed.

It is easy for the helper to do this correctly. You drive into the 850 mm wide opening, so that wheelchairs etc. can stand in dry weather. After this, it is possible to move the person on a seat sling using the waist pull.

Waist belts and seat slings are stored in a locked cabinet inside the shelter when the shelter is not in use. The lift solution is CE-approved for lifting people up to 250 kg.

You can read a lot more about setting up a camp site for people with disabilities at the Danish Handicap Association, which has made a really good to-do list.

Our Handicap Shelter is approved by the Danish Handicap Association.
